Again this was to be another thought provoking lecture. Coming into these lectures week by week now I have been quite looking forward not so much to the content of the lectures but by the questions that arise from learning about these issues brought up in the lecture.
\n
\nDr Nicholas again raised some important questions. The questions I found the most thought provoking were the questions he asked about your view on particular areas. These questions included what is your view on the world? Wjhat do you teach? Is this relevant?
\n
\nI thought these were very important as I believe relevance is a very important part of a students learning. As a youngester when I attended school, I often asked questions to myself and others, why are we learning this? Am I ever going to use this in the future. I feel if a teacher can show something and explain how it is relevant the student will be more eager to learn. This was the case for me.
\n
\nIn summing up the lecture was about challenges we may face in the future. We talked about different challenges we face and how we might handle these situations.
\nAgain after another positive lecture, I was left thinking about the challenges that I face in the future and how I might handle them.

\nIn a similar way to Rob, the area that most grabbed me was the question about relevence of subject material. Like him, I often questioned the importance of what I was learning in class and its importance in the "real" world.
\n
\nAs a teacher, I will strive to connect everything I teach to real world environments and not leave it hanging in the theoretical ether.","dateCreated":"1245979997","smartDate":"Jun 25, 2009","userCreated":{"username":"LaTrobeDeltaForceMichael","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/LaTrobeDeltaForceMichael","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}}],"more":0}]},{"id":"10252006","dateCreated":"1237264181","smartDate":"Mar 16, 2009","userCreated":{"username":"Latrobedeltaforce","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/Latrobedeltaforce","imageUrl":"https:\/\/ssl.wikicdn.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"},"monitored":false,"locked":false,"links":{"self":"https:\/\/latrobedeltaforce.wikispaces.com\/share\/view\/10252006"},"dateDigested":1531977509,"startDate":null,"sharedType":"discussion","title":"Reflections","description":"I found this lecture to be very enjoyable. It was delivered with obvious knowledge and passion on the subject. It was also nice to have a number of videos and songs etc, to break up the lecture a little bit.
\nThe lecture brought up a number of good questions for existing teachers or new teachers to ask themselves. These questions can help us be a better a teacher, by knowing what we want and how to achieve the best goals.
